Autumn in Estonia

The autumn months are September, October, November. Autumn in Estonia isn't always very nice. There is always mud everywhere and it makes our clothes dirty. It rains a lot in autumn. But sometimes it is warm too. In September and in October the temperature is usually above zero. But in November it falls below zero.

People often wear gumboots. They put on their raincoats, because it is almost always rainy here in autumn. In these cases people always take their umbrellas with them.

My grandparents' clothes at school

My grandparents had to wear uniforms. In the picture you can see my grandmother and her friend. In the picture they were in form 3. They could wear the clothes they wanted to. One girl is wearing a dotted dress and black shoes. My granny is wearing a white blouse, a black skirt, black socks and black shoes. My grandmother is wearing a uniform.
My grandad wore a uniform, too. There was a striped slip-on, a black slip-on on the striped slip-on, black trousers, black or dark blue socks and black shoes.
I think that I'm a lucky girl because I can wear anything I want. I don't have to wear uniform.

It usually snows in March but sometimes the snow starts melting. The snowdrops start growing. Usually the weather is quite windy and cold but it can be nice too.
April:
Days are getting warmer and snow starts melting. It often rains. The temperature is above zero.
May:
Days are warmer and there is mud everywhere. Leaves starts growing.

Early spring clothes:
Early spring clothes must be warm and waterproof.
In early spring you must wear a warm hat and wellies or waterproof sneakers.

Late spring clothes are of light colour. You can wear a cap, shorts, a shirt or a windproof and waterproof jacket and sneakers.
Umbrella is advisable.

In summer people usually wear light clothes. Children wear T-shirts and shorts but older people wear trousers and blouses. Many people wear hats because the sun is too hot. Most people wear bath slippers or sandals. Only a few people wear shoes. Nobody wears coats.

When the summer is rainy we even wear rubber boots and light coats. And our summers are sometimes windy and cool.

In elementary school her grandfather wore blue shorts, a blue shirt, a coat, stockings and slippers and school-hat. They had to wear those clothes every day.
Meryl's grandparents wore casual clothes because after the Second World War there was no money to buy school uniforms.

I am going to write a story about clothes I like.I like clothes that have white, grey and black army spots all over. Usually I like to wear a T-shirt, a hooded-top, jeans and shoes. My mother never lets me buy spotted clothes so I have to wear usual clothes. I don’t like purple clothes or clothes that are too tight, I like loose clothes. I also don’t like high heels.

Every nation has its own national clothes. National clothes are generally peasant clothes which were used everyday and on holidays too. There are different national clothes.
In South Estonia alongstriped skirts were common. Bonnets were from white flax.
In North Estonia it was the most characteristic that women wore a shirt without kauters and a short confessioncote with kauters on top of it.
In West Estonia women wore a dress shirt with long kauters and a sweater on top of it.
Men wore knickers and woollen jackets.
Nowdays national costumes are popular.We wear them on special days: Independence Day, song- and dance festivals,Midsummer Nights.

The Estonian people wear warm clothes in winter. Children wear overalls. In winter children can sledge , ski and skate. For that we have special sports clothes. We wear coats, warm trousers, caps, gloves and scarves, winter boots, and cloaks.

If it is very cold in winter, people wear very warm clothes. People wear stockings under warm trousers. When the winter is warm we wear jackets and jeans.:)

I wear usual clothes. I like to wear jeans. I have grey jeans. I wear a sweater. It´s black. My favourite colour is green. I don´t wear green clothes, because I think green clothes don´t suit me. I wear black socks. I don´t like to wear white socks, because they become dirty far too quickly. My favourite brand is Adidas. I have the Adidas coat, it´s blue and black.
